Description
This is definitely one of the best boxes I’ve ever made. The acrylic makes the box look nice and lets you see the contents of the box. But opening the box might be a lot harder that it seems. Although it looks like there isn’t much room for movement, it takes a total of 42 steps to open the box! It has an complexity of 7 out of 10.
I got to say I’m really proud on this box. Although the mechanism works great it’s quite easy to make. The only downsides of this box are the drawing dimensions. Because the moving pieces are interacting at the corners of the box there are some weird dimensions in the building plans, but I’m quite sure this won’t be a problem during the construction of this box.
If you purchase the building plans for this box you will get a step by step guide on how to make this box. Everything will be explained in detail making sure your box will be a great master piece. You won’t need any experience on making puzzle boxes at all. The building plans use detailed computer drawn images for every part you need to cut. For the assembling part there is a 3D computer model from the box to show how the parts need to be glued together. The entire building plan has been made in the variable X, so you can make the box any size you want! You can use any wood thickness you like.
